Dr Pappie MajubaDr Pappie Majuba is Right to Care’s Programme Manager for the Gauteng province.
Pappie joined Right to Care as a medical officer in 2004. His brief was to set up a clinic to see mainly indigent patients and those who were working at small companies in and around Wynberg, Johannesburg.
Thereafter he assisted as a clinical advisor for private and voluntary counselling and testing programmes. He was then appointed as Medical Manager of Themba Lethu Clinic. In that position, he was involved mainly with the mentorship of clinicians before deployment them to the network of Right to Care and partner sites.
Pappie has a BSc Honours degree, MBChB degree. He is an occupational health practitioner with diploma in Occupational Health and Medicine. Pappie has also obtained a diploma in HIV Management with the College of Medicine in SA. He also has a certificate in advanced management.
He worked in private practise for ten years before joining Right to Care. Through his experience working in partnerships with government departments, such as the Correctional Services and Health departments, he gained an understanding of the challenges of dealing with the public sector.
His areas of interest are improving clinical skills in patient management and research outputs relevant to patient care in a resource-constrained setting.
His ability to manage challenging government and private sector relationships as characterised by public-private partnerships makes him an asset to the Right to Care team.
