Dr Liesl Page-Shipp is the TB programme manager for Right to Care. She joined Right to Care in August 2007, initially at Sizwe Hospital for Multi-drug resistant TB and then as TB programme manager in April 2009. Liesl has 15 years experience in HIV, TB and MDR-TB covering clinical care, programme management, and evaluation and research aspects. She started her career at Sizwe (then Rietfontein) Hospital and went on to manage the TB programme for Gold Fields Health Service. When AngloGold pioneered the introduction of antiretroviral therapy (ART) for their workforce, she assisted in managing this role out. This involved engaging with mine management, clinic staff and technical advisors. In 2005 she started Aragon Consulting in 2005 as a co-partner. Projects included developing and implementing evaluation tools for TB and HIV programmes in the mining, private and NGO sectors. Throughout her career she has been actively involved in research. Besides her medical degree, Liesl has diplomas in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Public Health and Occupational Health.
