Towards the end of 2008, Right to Care signed a memorandum of understanding with the Free State Department of Health (DoH) for the development of a partnership to enhance the provincial CCMT programme for HIV & AIDS. Sites supported by RTC fall into two districts. In the Motheo district are the Heidedal Community Health Centre and Pelonomi Hospital. In the Thabo Mofutsanyane are Botlhokong CHC, Mamello CHC, Phekolong Hospital, Phutholoha Hospital, Phomolong Clinic, and Petsana Clinic.
The province went through an intense rationalization exercise with all its partners and therefore RTC activities on kicked off in July 2009 at Pelonomi hospital, Bloemfontein. The initial focus was onTB programmes and this was quickly followed by the implementation of comprehensive CCMT services through seconded Right to Care staff, with medical equipment, and the development of a TB Focal point.
The second phase started in September 2009, with support for CCMT sites in Motheo and Thabo Mofutsanyane Districts.
