Dr Grietjie Strydom is the Chief Operating Officer of Right to Care Health Services (Pty) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidy of Right to Care.
Grietjie is a medical doctor with a driving passion to make a difference in the HIV epidemic in South Africa. She qualified in 1984 at the University of the Free State and has since performed a variety of roles in the medical profession. She has been involved in private practice and in occupational health. She has held the position of Chief Medical Officer of the Professional Provident Society and of Divisional Head of Alexander Forbes Financial Services.
Grietjie has extensive experience in the fight against HIV and AIDS and is able to find solutions and to get the right messages across variety of industries, taking the lead in South Africa in convincing employers to fund the HIV and AIDS Management of their employees. By convincing over 40 large employer groups to pay for the treatment of HIV-infected individuals in their companies, Grietjie has assisted in saving many lives. She is passionate about keeping HIV negative individuals negative and believes that annual counselling and testing drives in companies go a long way to achieving this.
Right to Care Health Services provides HIV care and management services to private companies.
