Shashi NagarShashi is the TherapyEdge Programme Manager for Right to Care. With a postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Shashi Nagar served for five years as an Assistant Course Coordinator for Medical Microbiology in the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, University of the Witwatersrand. In 2000, she was picked by Prof Raymond Smego, Jr. and Dr Ian Sanne to join the Clinical HIV Research Unit as a Research Coordinator. She is currently studying towards her Masters in Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand.
In 2003, being one of the first five employees at Right to Care, Shashi has been instrumental in establishing the TherapyEdge health management information system. She started as a case manager for the Direct AIDS Intervention programme and then took the lead in getting patient data at Themba Lethu Clinic captured on TherapyEdge. Shashi has successfully piloted first the hybrid and then real-time use of TherapyEdge at Themba Lethu Clinic.
As the TherapyEdge programme manager, Shashi is responsible for providing leadership to the TherapyEdge Data Management Unit for the implementation and roll-out of TherapyEdge at sites supported by Right to Care including, training and data quality assurance of data input. She works closely with the TherapyEdge development consultant and clinical advisor Prof Patrick MacPhail and the TherapyEdge development team in Luxemburg, for new developments and integrations. Her responsibilities include regression testing and validation of all new modules before approving roll-out.
