Right to Care provides and care and treatment to HIV-positive patients who cannot afford antiretroviral treatment. The care and treatment services include:
The interventions listed above are provided primarily through partnerships with government departments of health and other NGOs. Through its Thusong programme, Right to Care funds the antiretroviral treatment of private patients under the care of 70 general practitioners. Voluntary Medical Male CircumcisionThere is a compelling evidence that male circumcision reduces the risk of heterosexually acquired HIV infection in men by approximately 60%. Circumcision also protects against other sexually transmitted infections, such as syphilis and gonorrhea. Right to Care provides Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (CMMC) at the Themba Lethu Clinic, Helen Joseph Hospital in Westdene.
