Who we are

About us

Right to Care is a leading healthcare organization that began in response to the public healthcare emergency of HIV and AIDS in South Africa in 2001 and the pressing need to make medicine and care available to public sector HIV/AIDS patients. It was one of the first organizations in South Africa to make HIV treatment available to public patients. Its solid groundwork of service delivery, patient care and innovation in South Africa quickly attracted attention from international funders and partners.

What we do

We specialise in the delivery of HIV care and treatment, as well as the provision of technical assistance to transition health systems that were originally designed to draw patients to clinics into those that are patient-focused with medicine dispensing systems that are easy and accessible.
We have pioneered strategies such as multi-month dispensing to empower patients to manage their health and remain adherent to treatment. To support these strategies, we have introduced last mile supply chain solutions, data monitoring, clinical quality improvements and community programmes.
