Dr Ali Bacher

Dr Ali Bacher (MBBCh (Wits)) was the captain of the national cricket team 1960s and has spent more than 30 years involved in the business and promotion of sport.

Dr Bacher graduated from University of Witwatersrand medical school in 1967. Dr Bacher’s achievements have been recognised with cricket-related awards (both for playing and for administration) and numerous other awards, among which are two honorary doctorates (from Rhodes University and Wits University) and the Da Vinci Laureate Award for Social Architecture.
